How to Boost your Immune System for Optimal Wellness

Hey, I get it. We all want to have a strong immune system and feel really great 24/7, right? I know that is not always an easy task, but we can get there and give our body, mind, and soul a boost and stay healthy all the time. We might have trouble or need a few of these habits to add to our lives such as:

  • an easy daily regimen we can stick to
  • easy meals or food to eat
  • fast workouts that are effective
  • great supplements to take and combine with a healthy diet

Let’s take a look below at some powerful ways to boost that immune system, gain optimal wellness, feel badass, and LOVE YOUR LIFE! Sound good? Let’s Go!

Soak up that Sunshine

Vitamin D and the lovely sunshine will give your immune system a huge boost! Spending 30 minutes outside in the morning hours will get you super energized for the whole day.

Most of us can be deficient in Vitamin D without even knowing it and need to supplement as well. If you do use an extra Vitamin D supplement, make sure you get your levels checked first with your doctor so you know what action to take. I was on 10,000 IU for a while and need to get my levels checked again. Get the lab results first! Spending time outdoors every day is the answer!

Take Probiotics Daily

Probiotics are super important for a healthy life, optimal digestion support, and a strong immune system. The good and beneficial forms of bacteria in your gut are probiotics and they promote a healthy microbiome and fight the harmful organisms and bad bacteria.

70 percent of your immune system is in your gut, so maintaining that balance of good and bad bacteria is vital, and boosting your immune system with fermented foods can keep your gut and immune system running smoothly.

Fermented foods are a natural source of probiotics, and a few to try for optimal gut health include all fermented vegetables, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi(spicy for me please!), kefir yogurt or milk, miso, and kombucha.

For probiotic supplements, a few recommendations to try are below. In a probiotic supplement, always look for at least 10 different strains. Pure Encapsulations (Probiotic 25 and Probiotic 50) and Garden of Life are my two favorites. I cannot stress enough how important sleep is. Get your 8 hours. 7-9 hours is ideal. Your immune system will thank you. And your overall health. Sleep is nourishing and healing for your mind, body, and soul. It is like hitting a reset button every day.

Getting the extra zzzz’s is super beneficial for your brain as well so you can be refreshed, energized, and focused for the next day.

Supplements that Rock

Eating tons of raw, organic greens, fruits, and vegetables are simply the best way to boost your immune system, but some of us simply cannot break down food and nutrients properly. It depends on our body, digestive process, and our current gut health. That being said, we might need extra supplementation to help move the nutrients where they need to go.
